Sophie Dinnie our Community Fundraiser has introduced a fantastic new fundraising initiative this year and has been encouraging local nurseries to host their very own ‘Teddy Bear’s Picnic’ in aid of Cransley Hospice.
Squirrels Day Nursery in Corby were the first Nursery to sign up to host a Teddy Bear’s Picnic – and in fact, even ended up putting on two events so that every child who attended the Nursery was able to participate. The lucky children who were able to go to both events were absolutely delighted!
One of our very own Cransley Teddies attended the events and joined in on all the fun! He returned to the fundraising offices with stories of the wonderful children that had allowed him to take part in their picnic and helped him to raise money to care for more local people.
Thanks to the generosity of all of the parents and staff at Squirrels Day Nursery, a total of £97 was raised! We’re incredibly grateful to the Nursery for being the first to take part in this initiative and for their fantastic donation.
We hope that more Nurseries or playgroups will be excited to take part in a Teddy Bear’s Picnic in the future! To get involved, or for more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01536 452 423.
