The death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

In the Hospice movement, we are faced with death, dying and grief on a daily basis. Not only does this mean that we understand more than most how much of an impact this can have on those left behind, but it also allows us to recognise the importance of celebrating life, and the legacy someone leaves behind.
Earlier this year we united in the celebration of our Queen’s incredible dedication, service and constancy to the throne. The Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II brought us together, not only in person, but in pride.
She was an inspirational leader to us all and her achievements were many. She served as our Queen longer than any other Monarch in British history, a much loved and respected figure across the globe. For over 70 years, Her Majesty was a dedicated Head of the Commonwealth, linking more than two billion people worldwide.
Throughout her reign, she showed incredible support to hospices and the entire hospice, palliative and end of life care movement will be forever thankful for her support and service.
Our heart-felt thoughts are with her Family, who say goodbye to their mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Cransley Hospice Trust will join the nation in saying farewell, and thank you to a truly remarkable woman, leader and Queen.
“Grief is the price we pay for love.” Queen Elizabeth II, 1926 – 2022
