Summer Ball Magic Raises over £5,000 for Cransley Hospice!

The early Summer months are the perfect time to slip into your finest attire and dance the night away at a charity ball!

26th June 2019

During May and June, we had two show-stopping evenings – between them raising a whopping £5,500 for Cransley Hospice!

An incredible evening was had by all who attended the Cransley Fundraising Ball, organised by Jodie at the Holiday Inn in Corby on the 25th May 2019. The room was full to capacity and looked stunning – we’re especially envious of the fantastic ‘Cransley’ letters! Guests were treated to a red-carpet arrival and enjoyed a delicious three course meal before dancing into the early hours with a floor-filling DJ.

Jodie told us that she had very personal reasons for organising the event as she lost her Dad in December 2018 in Cransley Hospice. She said “My Dad was admitted to Cransley Hospice on Christmas Eve 2018 after a two-and-a-half-year battle with Soft Tissue Sarcoma Cancer. He sadly but peacefully passed away on 29th December.

“During his short time there, he said he felt the most safe and comfortable he had felt in a long time. All of the staff at Cransley were absolutely amazing, my Dad’s care was outstanding.”

She explained how one of her dad’s final wishes was for her organise a fundraising event for us and we know he would have been so proud to have seen how much time and effort she put into the event, raising an incredible £3,500 in total from the night! We’re so grateful for her support.

Then on the 14th June 2019, our very own ‘Mirrored Ball’ was held at Harrowden Hall. The weather stayed kind to us, despite all the recent rain and our guests were delighted with the gin and fizz reception, delicious three-course meal and some unexpected twists!  The marquee looked picture-perfect, with all of the guests commenting on the pretty table decorations.

We were blown away by fabulous entertainment throughout the evening, from Joshua Daniel ‘The Tenor’ throughout the reception, to floor-fillers ‘Pure Genius’ and ‘Bill Burton DJ’ after the meal.

Fun was had by all in the mirror-photobooth, including by our wonderful nurses, who were able to be there and celebrate with us, thanks to an incredibly generous donor who purchased a table on their behalf!

With almost £2,000 raised from the event, we’re so thankful to everyone who attended and helped us to make this magical night possible – including event sponsors Wilson Browne!

If you’re feeling inspired by these magnificent evenings, why not consider hosting your own Ball for Cransley Hospice?
