Street Collection Boosted by Incredible Local Support!

The Red Watch from Kettering Fire and Rescue, the Happy Together Ukulele Band and The Emergency Services Cadets enabled us to raise more than we thought possible!

October 2018

If you’re busy shopping in Kettering Town Centre and you spot a charity collection… you may well cross the street! We understand. However, with huge thanks to the Red Watch from Kettering Fire and Rescue, the Happy Together Ukulele Band and The Emergency Services Cadets, we were able to put on a really great show to entertain our local community and to have one of our most successful street collections ever!

On Saturday 13th October, these fantastic supporters gathered together and worked their magic on the people of Kettering – helping us to raise an impressive £338.67!

The Happy Together Ukulele Band played for over two hours, creating a fantastic atmosphere and adding some cheer to a Saturday morning, while the Fire Crew gave out stickers and impressed young shoppers by showing them the workings of the Fire Engine! The Cadets were on hand with collection buckets and enjoyed speaking to members of the public about the vital work that Cransley Hospice do every day.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support of these fantastic teams. It really has made the world of difference to us. This fantastic total will pay for over two full shifts for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to visit patients in their own homes, via our Hospice at Home service, meaning that our patients can have a choice about where they receive essential end-of-life care.

We’re always excited to hear from new volunteers, community groups or entertainers who would be happy to help us with a street collection. If this sounds like you – please email us at info@cransleyhospice.org.uk or call 01536 452 423 and speak to our Fundraising Team.
