Lights, Camera, Action For Our Corporate Supporters!

Earlier this month, Community Fundraising Manager Mary Hollands and Marketing Manager Jacqueline Cheung went out on the road with the fantastic Daniel Everett from Label 89 Productions to film some short promotional videos with some of our phenomenal corporate partners.

April 2019

The videos will be used to help us attract more corporate supporters, as this is an absolutely essential part of our fundraising – but it was also a lovely opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to some of the incredibly loyal corporate partners who work with us and to see what they get up to at their own place of work.

Our first stop was Silverdisc, a specialist digital marketing agency in Kettering, where we met with Managing Director Alan Perkins. Alan explained how Cransley Hospice will be Silverdisc’s long-term charity partner and they will support us in a number of ways; from attending our fundraising events like the Dragonboat Races and the Mirrored Ball, through to daily employee-led fundraising including the sale of gorgeous handmade cards with all proceeds coming to the charity.

Silverdisc will also be using their expertise to support us online and as a Google Premier Partner, they will utilise their considerable experience to help us set up Google Ad Grants, saving the fundraising team a lot of trial and error!

Next, Duncan Nicholson, Managing Partner from Tollers Solicitors dropped by our offices to tell us all about how they will be supporting Cransley Hospice through their Corporate Social Responsibility programme this year.

Tollers Solicitors have recently become one of two headline sponsors of this Summer’s Cycle for Cransley event after several members of the team took part last year. This sponsorship has enabled us to make dramatic improvements to the event this year, including a brand-new distance, the Cransley Fondo (no small challenge at 63-miles/100km!) and huge improvements to the event village.

But that’s not all, as senior members of the Tollers Solicitors team, including Duncan himself, will also be undertaking an epic London to Paris bike ride – and all sponsorship raised from this challenge will also benefit the charity.

After a much-needed pit-stop, we headed over to Western Power Distribution in Kettering, where we met with several enthusiastic team members, including Team Manager Richard MacGowan. The Western Power Distribution team are very invested in their support of Cransley Hospice, with several members of the team having personal connections. The company is also the headline sponsor of our annual Road Races event.

The sponsorship originally came about when Richard read an article about the cost of poor health being a greater threat to workplace productivity than accidents – and subsequently signed the team up to take part in the road race, as well as securing sponsorship money for the event costs! Fast forward several years and the event is a permanent fixture in everyone’s calendar (whether they choose to support the race or run in it!) and the team also undertake employee-led fundraising throughout the year too.

Our final visit of the day was to one of our newest supporters, Weetabix, where we met with Jessica Andrew, a member of the Charity Team. Jess was really excited to explain about everything that Weetabix have planned to raise money for Cransley Hospice this year – because we are one of three different charities that have been selected by the staff to fundraise for.

The team will be taking part in several of this year’s events, including the Bubble Rush next month – and are also busy raising money for us in other ways, including very popular bake sales! They’ll also support a lot of our events this Summer with special ‘build your own Weetabix’ stations, we can’t wait to sample it all!

What a fantastic day we had – and a huge thank you to all of our corporate partners for getting involved. If your company would be able to help us in any way at all, please get in touch with the Fundraising Team on 01536 452 423 or email info@cransleyhospice.org.uk – as you can see, there is no limit to the ways in which you can support us and we value donations of your skills and expertise just as much as a financial donation!
