Kettering’s Cyclists Support Our Second Annual Sportive!

Following the success of last year’s event, the Events Team had been working hard all year to grow and improve the event and thanks to generous support from headline sponsors Tollers Solicitors and KLM Taxis we were able to take on the challenge – listening to the feedback from the riders’, we’re certain this was successfully accomplished!

We absolutely loved the event! The 63-miler was a challenge and a half! Thanks to all the volunteers who helped.
Along with the 10, 25 and 50-mile routes that riders enjoyed in 2018, we introduced a brand-new distance with the 63-mile (100km) Cransley Fondo! Experienced cyclists and first-time heroes alike tackled the routes, with riders on the three longer distances also indulging in a pit-stop at the feed station, that was stocked with delicious homemade cakes.
The event village was buzzing with sweat and enthusiasm, as tired cyclists and their supporters were entertained by live singers and MASH dance studios, refuelled on coffee, sweets, BBQ and beer, and enjoyed the games and stalls on offer.
Totals are still being totted up from the event, with sponsorship money still pouring in – but this year’s event looks set to have raised over £12,000! This amount of money will go an incredibly long way into funding all of the services provided by our hospice. In fact, it could pay for over 26-nights of care for a patient in our hospice.
