Is 2018 the year that you’ve decided to get fit (or maybe just fitter), if so why not do it for Cransley Hospice? Maybe you’ve made a New Year’s resolution to do something charitable and ‘give back’ or maybe now that the excitement and festivities of the holiday period are over then you just need something to look forward to. We have an exciting events portfolio which we believe is our best yet this year!
From our annual and hugely popular Cransley Hospice Road Races in September, which will see you running in and around the picturesque village of Cranford on either a 10km or half marathon route, to our new event Swim for Cransley we have plenty of active challenges to help you get fitter whilst raising vital funds for your local hospice. If swimming 200 lengths of Kettering Swimming Pool for Swim for Cransley sounds too daunting then why not split the distance with friends or family?
For those who want to get active but at a more sedate pace, or are just looking for a fun event, then the Bubble Rush for Cransley Hospice which takes place on 20th May at Wicksteed Park is not to be missed. The Bubble Rush is a 5k walk, run, hop, skip or jump through thousands of multicoloured bubbles which are fired out by cannons! You’re not racing anybody else so you can take part at your own pace or perhaps you’ll want to be the first to cross the finish line? The choice is up to you! This is a family event and is open to all; pushchairs and wheelchairs are welcome. Unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed.
Your event entry fees and any sponsorship money raised really does make a difference to Cransley Hospice. This year we need to raise £1.4 million to continue to provide care to our local community either in the hospice itself or in the community.
As well as fitness-based events, you can also complete a once-in-a-lifetime skydive for Cransley Hospice! The cost of the skydive is just £200 which is payable to Sibson Airfield with the suggested minimum sponsorship an additional £100. The sponsorship money is used to support the hospice and to allow Cransley Hospice to be able to continue to provide free-of-charge specialist, palliative care to patients and their families in north Northamptonshire. Our Summer Skydive takes place on 14th July and bookings are being taken now!
So, whether you’re thinking of completing a skydive, a run or any other activity why not consider doing it for Cransley Hospice and raising much-needed support for your local hospice. People that come to our events say what a fantastic time they have and many keep coming back year after year. When you support and donate to Cransley Hospice, you can be assured that your donation really is helping in your community.

Why do others get involved in our events?
I’m taking part in the 10k Cransley Hospice Road Race as I feel it’s important to give something back for the great work that the hospice does and support them in any way that I can- Kevin Rowlatt
