Here’s Claire, a nurse from the hospice! She conquered the Yorkshire 3 Peaks in July 2023, raising an incredible £1,596!

I’ve worked at Cransley Hospice for 14 years. So it was both professional and personal for me.  I see first hand the great work we do and how much we rely on the kind spirit of our community.  And sadly it was personal as we looked after a dear friend of mine before he sadly died.  The challenge was great. And it was certainly a challenge. It definitely pushed me. But it was great fun too, meeting lots of people along the way. I would encourage everyone to undertake something that pushes them.

Challenge Itinerary: You will set off early morning from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to begin the adventure!

The first peak, Pen-y-ghent (694m / 2,276 ft) is just under 3 miles away, so it won’t be long until your enjoy our first taste of success.

After conquering the first peak we then descend and push on to our next peak which is the highest of all three, Whernside, approximately 7.5 miles further.

We then start our ascent to our third and final peak – Ingleborough (723m / 2,237 ft) which is approx. 11.5 miles further on. We take the 6 mile trek back to Horton-in-Ribblesdale, where we enjoy a well earned glass of fizz!
