Celebrate the Festive Season with Cransley Hospice!

The weather is getting chillier by the day and the nights have drawn in, but there’s still plenty to celebrate with a fantastic month of events leading up to Christmas!

November 2018

Sunday 2nd December will see the annual ‘Tree of Lights’ service return to the home of our hospice at the St Mary’s Hospital site in Kettering. The event will take place on the open space outside the fundraising office at 6.30pm.

The Tree of Lights is a reflective service, with readings, carols and music, allowing people of all ages and faiths to remember and reflect together at this special time of year.

The lights on the tree are dedicated to greatly-missed friends and family members and they shine brightly throughout the festive season until the Twelfth Night on the 5th January.

The event is, as always, free to attend and we hope to see as many of our supporters as possible join us on the evening. If you’re not able to make the event, we’d still be incredibly grateful for your donations, which will enable us to continue the incredible work we do in our Hospice every day. But that’s not the end of the festivities! If the kids are driving you crazy with their excitement for the big day, you won’t want to miss our family friendly ‘Santa Saunter!’

Join over 250 other Santa’s in this magical 3km stroll around the picturesque lake at Wicksteed Park on Sunday 9th December.

Tickets are just £12.50 for adults and £5 for children – and both ticket types include your Santa suit and a medal for every finisher. Make sure you enter HERE without delay as we’re limited by the number of Santa suits available as to capacity numbers!

We’re always lucky to be joined on the Santa saunter by festive-paws, as local dogs take part for a fun-filled walkies. For the first time this year, we’re actively encouraging dogs to raise sponsorship for the event and every pooch that raises over £50 will receive a fabulous free dog bandana in a choice of sizes and designs. Visit our event page HERE to read more!

Registration for the Santa saunter opens at 10am, with the event kicking off at 11am – but make sure you arrive early. We’ll have Olaf and Elsa from Frozen joining us for registration, with plenty of other family-friendly activities also on offer, including a tombola, refreshments and small Christmas gifts.

After this, our events team will be busy finalising plans for our 2019 calendar, so make sure you follow us on social media to be the first to hear about the latest events!
