How YOU can support us during Hospice Care Week!

Tell us why you 'heart' Cransley Hospice!

September 2018

From the 8th – 14th October, it’s national ‘Hospice Care Week’ which is a fantastic opportunity for us to raise visibility of our Hospice and encourage new supporters and volunteers to get involved with the work that we do.

This year’s theme is ‘I Heart My Hospice’ and we are asking people to get involved by helping us to raise awareness of Cransley Hospice in our community. We have a number of exciting ways in which you can get involved…

We’re asking local knitters to get crafty and to help us create 150 knitted hearts – to represent the average number of patients we help with our services EVERY MONTH! Whether you can just manage one heart or can help us with more, we’d really value your contributions. We’ve already had fantastic support from ‘Loving Hands’ knitting group in Wellingborough who are well on their way to helping us achieve this total number of hearts!

These knitted hearts will be used to create a beautiful display in our shop window, to catch the eye of passers-by who may not realise how many people benefit from our services.

Throughout the week we’ll also be asking people to share their stories of ‘Why they ‘heart’ Cransley Hospice’. We’re always hearing from people on social media that have been touched by the incredible care they’ve received from our Nurses, but what makes Cransley Hospice such a special place? By sharing your story, you will help us to communicate to future patients and our supporters why Hospice care is so essential.

Throughout the week, local coffee shops are also supporting us by making a small donation to us when they sprinkle a love-heart on top of their coffees! Keep an eye on our Facebook page to find out which coffee shops in the area will be supporting us with this initiative.

Then on Friday 12th October, we’re asking local schools, community groups and businesses to ‘Go Green for Cransley!’ It’s a really simple concept; wear something green on this day and make a donation to Cransley Hospice. There are no excuses for not getting involved!

Finally, for anyone feeling particularly ambitious, we’d love it if you’d consider doing your own coffee morning, quiz night or local event to help us raise the profile of Cransley Hospice in our community and raise some of the £1.4 million per year that we need to provide our full range of services. Just get in touch with the fundraising team for support or information. Thank you for your support!
