Payroll Giving
WHAT IS PAY ROLL GIVING?
Pay roll giving is a donation to the charity of your choice made directly from your salary every pay day.
WHO CAN JOIN THE SCHEME?
Any employee who pays tax by PAYE can join, as long as the employer has agreed to run an approved scheme.
HOW DO I JOIN THE SCHEME?
Fill in the form attached to this sheet and send it to the wages department.
HOW MUCH CAN I GIVE?
There is no Government limit to the amount you are able to give.
HOW DOES THE MONEY REACH THE CHARITY?
The money is passed through a charity agency that is recognised by the Inland Revenue. The agency then passes the money directly on to the charity or charities you have chosen.
HOW DO I GET TAX RELIEF?
Your gift is deducted BEFORE you pay tax. This means that at basic rate, (22%), a gift of £10 would cost you £7.80 because the remaining £2.20 is the tax that would normally be deducted.
CAN I STOP PAYING AT ANY TIME?
Yes. Just let your payroll department know.
CAN I ASK FOR A REFUND OF MY DONATIONS?
This is not possible. Once the payment is made and tax relief made on it, the donation must go to the charity.
Please consider Cransley Hospice, YOUR local Hospice as the charity you choose to support from your pay. If you think this scheme could operate in your workplace contact Diana on
